FOREWORD

This concepts presented here are unsolicited.

The material here is based upon research and investigation undertaken over a decade or more, research that looked at the cultural dimension of placemaking and placemarking in Tasmania from the perspective of ‘placedness’ and the cultural realities that are defined by ’place’.

In addition, the critique offered here is also informed by 25 years experience as a resident of the city and is likewise informed by the collective experiences of individuals and groups in the various networks established within the city over that time.
